This policy explains how Honther collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform and services.

Account information
When you create a Honther account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Optionally, you may provide a phone number for SMS shipment notifications.
Shipment data
To book and process deliveries, we collect sender and recipient names, postal addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and package details (weight, dimensions, category). This information is necessary to provide our services.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment credentials on our servers. We retain transaction records including amounts, dates, and payment status.
Usage data
We collect standard log data when you use our platform, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used for security monitoring and service improvement.
Service delivery
We use your information to book shipments, assign couriers, generate shipping labels, and send tracking updates to you and your recipient.
Communications
We send transactional emails and, where you have provided a phone number, SMS notifications about your shipment status. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
Platform improvements
Aggregated and anonymised usage data helps us improve the reliability, speed, and features of the Honther platform.
Legal compliance
We may use or retain data where required by law, court order, or regulatory obligation.
Public by design
Each shipment has a public tracking page accessible via the waybill number. This page displays the shipment status, location events, and the recipient's first name. This visibility is a core feature of the service and is disclosed to both sender and recipient at the time of booking.
Limiting access
If you have concerns about a shipment's public tracking page, contact support@honther.app and we will review the request.
Data protection measures
We use TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and bcrypt hashing for passwords. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel.
Incident response
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required by applicable law.
Access and portability
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing privacy@honther.app.
Correction
You may update your name, email, and phone number from your account profile page at any time.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal data. We will comply within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).
Objection
You may object to any data processing that is not strictly necessary for service delivery. Contact privacy@honther.app to make such a request.
Account data
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, excluding records required for financial or legal compliance.
Shipment records
Shipment and payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with accounting and tax regulations.
